11 October 2017, 13:00 - 14:00
Cambridge campus

Global Sustainability Institute ident

What did nature ever do for us? So much more than the direct economic benefit of food and fuel!

Inspecting discourse on English village signs, street names and brief ‘stories’ about trees - using contributions from the British public to the Charter for Trees campaign - Nigel has examined evidence of non-economic valuation of nature, looking specifically at spiritual or religious understanding of nature. Nigel will talk about his findings, and the analysis of evidence of our cultural approach to nature.
