Mill Road Winter Fair 2017

We are delighted to support the Mill Road Winter Fair and host many activities on our campus. These will be located near the entrance from Bradmore Street.

Christmas craft stalls

  • Pick up a Christmas present from a wide range of stalls selling anything from custom-made box frames, original water colour paintings, wood-turned bowls to fashion knitted products.

Talks and performances

  • JJ Puppets - Christmas Puppet show for families and children age 3-13. Times: 11-11.35am, 1.30-2.05pm, 2.30-3.05pm, 3.30-4.05pm, venue: Lord Ashcroft Building, LAB028
  • The View from Mill Road Bridge - Tony Kirby will talk about Cambridge’s railway infrastructure from 1845 to the present. Time: 11-11.45am and 2.30-3.15pm, venue: Lord Ashcroft Building, LAB027
  • Royal Scottish Country Dance Society - Demonstration of Scottish country dances and ceilidh with audience participation. Time: 12-1pm, venue: Lord Ashcroft Building, LAB028
  • Cambridge Groove Orchestra – Big Band performance. Time: 1.15-2.15pm, venue: Helmore Building, The Recital Hall

  • Christmas portraitsStudio photo shoot with our photography students, cost £20 for a 20-minutes session, and your picture sent by email. Prints can be provide at extra cost. All proceeds will go towards the organisation of an exhibition by our photography students.

  • Cambridge MuseumsFitzwilliam Museum, Whipple History of Science Museum and Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology runs object handling and art activities for families.
  • Care Network CambridgeshireHear from the team how they help people stay healthy, independent and keep in touch with their community. 
  • World Illustration Awards exhibition 2017Works on display include murals, posters, packaging and children’s books by artists from around the world. The exhibition also includes work from Bethan Woollvin, Cambridge School of Art graduate and winner of this year’s Children's Book category. Exhibition in The Ruskin Gallery.
