The extremes of youth and age have come together to create this performance, which is the culmination of an intergenerational theatre project between Anglia Ruskin University Drama and Performing Arts students and residents from School Court Sheltered Housing Unit. The residents have reminisced about their experiences of World War II and post-war Britain, remembering the high and lows of growing up in extreme times, and the students have dramatised their memories to create a piece that is historically accurate and theatrically inventive. With music, song, physical theatre and verbatim storytelling Memories of School Court brings the people’s history vividly to life.
Performance created by Anglia Ruskin Community Theatre Company and directed by Heather Lilley, Senior Lecturer in Drama.
This event is part of Cambridge Festival of Ideas.
