Welcome Week is a great opportunity for new students to get involved with school activities. Here, students have a chance to meet new people and get a feel of the university.
There are a range of activities planned that are sure to accommodate different students with different interests. First off, the university has arranged a campus and city tour to get the students familiar with their immediate surroundings so that students will be able to find their classes. There will also be a supermarket trip sometime within the week to take students to buy groceries and drop them back on campus to save them carrying it all.
Fresher parties are definitely something to look forward to! The ARU student union has arranged various events throughout the week to keep new and current students entertained. A purchased wristband to freshers entitles you entry to many amazing events such as the foam party and wildlife evoke.
The ‘Give it a go’ launch will be scheduled during this week as well. Through this programme, there will be various opportunities to go day trips to see more of the UK but at affordable prices. Events such as the ‘Give it a go’ trip to ely and Shepreth Wildlife Park will give you an opportunity to try new things minus the expensive prices.
The student societies will also have events throughout the week to welcome any new members who wish to join. Be sure to check the ARU student union calendar to be updated on all the events that will be taking place that week. You can do this through the school website or the school’s app.
