Hi everyone! My name is Rhea Sam. I've just finished my first year at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford. I am an international student from India. The reason I wanted to study this course was because the modules taught will help me towards the career that I want to pursue after graduating.

The course has been never less than interesting and I’ve had the opportunity to try new and different areas of business and IT. I’ve even had the opportunity to create my own website and alongside that I’ve had the chance to learn about different organisational behaviours in a company.
My first year has flown by and has taught me so much, not only academically but for personal growth as well. I have met people from all over the world and learnt about different cultures and backgrounds. I have joined the Futsal Society and we meet up every Thursday to train for our tournament matches. Joining the society has really fuelled my passion for football and also make some amazing friends along the way.

ARU has also helped me try out new sports such as volleyball, it was quite the learning experience! Chelmsford city is really vibrant and we always end up at Foyles bookshop for some quiet reading time or just study days for a change of scenery. We regularly visit the cinema which is only a ten minute walk from campus. Sometimes on a sunny day we just walk around the city sightseeing, or just simply chill in Central Park.

My friends and I have started a tradition on Sundays where we take it in turns to cook our favourite dish for everyone for dinner. Everything is super convenient and during the weekends there are so many stalls selling different items for a reasonable price!

We often travel to London and other places in the beautiful Essex countryside and coast when we get holidays to relax and explore.  My first year was truly memorable and I am sure the next two years will be the same.
