ARU Blogs — Ella

Ella, BA Graphic Design student

Faculty:Arts, Law & Social Sciences

Course: BA (Hons) Graphic Design

Hi. My name is Ella. I’m 20 and currently studying in my third year of Graphic Design at Anglia Ruskin, Cambridge. I live locally to Cambridge so I commute into uni each day, which is about a 20 minute train journey.

I originally didn’t want to come to uni as I just wanted to get out there and into a job within the design industry, but I can’t stress enough how glad I am that I did, as I have not only learned so much but I have made friends for life, and the time has gone so quickly.

I have read the blogs on here before and thought that it would be a good idea to share some of my tips and experiences with others who maybe don’t really want to go to uni, or maybe don’t want to live away from home.  Hopefully, by reading some of my blogs, you will find that actually you learn so much more doing the course than jumping straight into a job, and that just because you live at home doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on the social side of uni, the nights out and making new friends.
