Today I want to share with you my experience of the first day at university, the Induction Day. From now on there will be a lot more information about my Applied Nutritional Science course as well!
As usual for the first day of anything, I was extremely excited. The weather was being like the typical cliché of British weather as it was raining. By the time I had to leave, the rain eased a bit but the amount of puddles was ridiculous. I had not bought mudguards yet so I managed to splash water up my entire bum. Yes, I had to go to my first day looking more or less as if I had peed myself. Talk about embarrassing! Luckily, that was quickly forgotten as I walked into one of the massive lecture theatres in the Postgraduate Medical Institute on campus.
All around me was a mixture of scared but also excited faces and I could not wait for things to start./p>
Later in the day, it was time to go into our more specific groups. Applied Nutritional Science is part of the Medical Science faculty so we all went together to get to know each other and the lecturers we will have throughout our time (and maybe even have nightmares about once assignments are due!). It was great to find out about different backgrounds and ways to ARU Chelmsford and to share the excitement, but also the worries, with other people.
I love the way ARU designed the Induction Day and to me, it was the perfect start to the real university life. There were a lot of fun Freshers events, but that is a story for the next blog!
