This blog post has taken me several attempts and small sessions to write. I am now sat in my blanket which, by the way, is from Primark and was an absolute bargain at £7! Armed with a cup of tea and Broadchurch on the television, I am now ready to finish this post.
Do you ever feel like you have so many things to do that the thought of starting any of them seems unbearable? This has been my life over Christmas, hence the lack of blog posts.
I recently moved out into my first flat with my partner and, aside from not having wi-fi for ten days or Sky TV for seven, it is going great – so far. Annoying habits are yet to be discovered (if any). I’m no stranger to moving out as I moved to a different university last year and lived in halls, so this doesn’t feel much different. The only major difference I have found is organising bill payments with electric and water companies.
We also got a hamster called Winston on Tuesday from Pets at Home. I have always wanted a small pet and as we are a ground floor flat we are unable to get a more domestic animal, such as a dog or cat (much to my frustration).
I work in River Island in my town on the high street and spent much of Christmas putting in as many extra hours as I could. I’m relieved to be coming to the end of all the extra hours as semester two is here. Although I didn’t really get much of a break over Christmas due to work, it’s been good to have been kept busy and at least earning money to pay my bills – and obviously order as much takeaway as possible.
I’m looking forward to my second term of studying Psychology, as my modules look a lot more exciting and engaging now we have covered the basics. I’ve gotten almost all of my coursework results back now from the first term and I am pleased with my results (although our first year doesn’t count, it’s still important to at least try).
That’s all for this holiday’s blog post but I will post regular blog posts now the uni term is rolling round! See you all soon.
