Finally it happened, some of us waited for it like Christmas! Anglia Ruskin University’s Employability Service has represented a job showcase this week. With a wide range of companies and organisations from toxic-gas detector to web designers.
I had the best impression from The National Citizen Service, as they are a Government-founded organisation, working with young people in Years 11 & 12 to create opportunities to take part in social action projects and build skills for work and life. This is the biggest personal development programme in England. I found so many pictures and information about their programme and I left my details with them, as I wish to take part in the summer programme.
It was a surprise to find this kind of organisation as I went to the job showcase thinking ‘business’ in my head, when I ran into this social type of work. And as I have a foundation degree in Working with Young People, I thought I’d give it a go. It’s always a thankful experience to work with this age group.
The job fair was such a great experience, and a perfect chance to spread your CV or find yourself an internship, as the employers are coming to your doorstep. I can’t wait for the next one!
