When I started midwifery at ARU, I was exceptionally apprehensive about the workload, being far away from family and being let loose in the hospital only six weeks in!
However, I soon realised there was no need for my anxieties as the workload is manageable and enjoyable, especially as I am so passionate about midwifery.
The lecturers are very warm, down to earth, and approachable and you are well supported. I am grateful for their support through my midwifery journey so far. Looking back, I wished I had embraced the first six weeks of university and trusted myself and the tutors that I would be succeed.
Things that would have made that time easier:
Midwifery is the most challenging, exhausting and thought-provoking journey I have ever embarked on, but by far the most rewarding. I know I will never look back! I am a different person now than when I began the course, and I cannot wait to 'live midwifery'.
