I came to Anglia Ruskin through Clearing. I've now finished my first year studying Pharmaceutical Science and my future prospects are greater than they've ever been.
My name is Melissa and I have finished my foundation year in Pharmaceutical Science.
I came to ARU through Clearing and I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for all the Clearing team’s help and guidance I wouldn’t be where I am today. The Clearing staff were so helpful and supported me every step of the way, from the first telephone call where they offered me a place, right up to my first official day at university.
I really didn’t think that I would ever have the chance to study towards a degree and the fact that Anglia Ruskin gave me the chance is something I will never forget, and always motivates me to work harder. I cannot thank ARU enough for giving me this opportunity.
The facilities that I use for this course are amazing. My course means I spend a lot of time in the ‘SuperLabs’ which are brand new state-of-the art labs in which I do all my practical experiments and lab reports under the supervision of my lecturers. I chose to study pharmaceutical science as my ambition is to work for Cancer Research or Alzheimer UK as a research scientist and this course is perfectly suited for me to reach that goal.
Since studying at Anglia Ruskin, I have joined the University’s cheerleading squad, the Anglia Ruskin Sirens, and this will be my first year as president of the team. As corny as it sounds, joining a society like the Sirens has allowed me to make friends for life who have made my university experience one that I will always remember. I am so excited to see where my degree takes me.
