Hi. My name is Dr Adam Longcroft, Deputy Head of Anglia Learning & Teaching. I’m passionate about great teaching, but didn’t set out to become a higher education teacher. Actually, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life until I started teaching courses on historic buildings to members of the Worker Educational Association (WEA) in Norwich back in 1993. I subsequently spent 20 years teaching undergraduate and masters students at UEA, and championed innovations in teaching as Academic Director of Taught Programmes for five years. My leadership of learning and teaching resulted in the award of a National Teaching Fellowship and being recognised as a Principal Fellow of the HEA. My aim is to share my own passion for teaching and some of the insights I’ve managed to gain with my colleagues. I’m a keen walker so spending time in the English Lake District is my idea of heaven, and I sometimes play bass guitar (very badly indeed) to mellow-out.
