CCU is the Coronary Care Unit that specialise in the cardiovascular system and the care of patients with cardiac issues. I shadowed two Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNPs) for this part of my placement who spend their time going to patients with chest pain and working out whether it’s cardiac or something else and referring them to the correct pathway.
