Award-winning alto-saxophonist and MC, Soweto Kinch, joins forces Cambridge's premier big band, the Cambridge University Jazz Orchestra - CUJO.

Kinch unites together his love for jazz, hip-hop and spoken word and has amassed an impressive list of accolades and awards on both sides of the Atlantic – including a Mercury Music Prize nomination, two UMA Awards and a MOBO for best Jazz Act in 2003.

In October 2007, he won his second MOBO Award when he was announced as the winner in the Best Jazz Act category.  His skills as a hip-hop MC and producer have also garnered him considerable recognition in the urban music world. He also presents BBC Radio Three’s new regular slot ‘Jazz Now’.

CUJO performs throughout the year in the top Cambridge jazz venues and further afield. They have worked with some of top names in the UK jazz scene including Dennis Rollins, Steve Waterman, Stan Sulzmann, and Liane Carroll, touring to Budapest, Prague, Istanbul and Bordeaux.
