Taking their inspiration from the Beat Poets, RipRap, led by saxophonist and composer, Kevin Flanagan, is an exciting, local collective working with composition, open-ended and improvisation.
With the ability to carry audiences ‘back and forth across the porous borderland between music and poetry’, RipRap explores some of the less common modes of composing.
The quartet’s music ranges from burning neo-groove jams and blues to haunting and atmospheric free jazz that makes sense.
