Literary Agent John Berlyne answers a student

Zeno Agency Head attends special Anglia Ruskin event

On Thursday 6 April, writing students at Anglia Ruskin were invited to attend a talk with literary agent John Berlyne, Head of Zeno Agency Ltd.

Zeno Agency, a London-based literary agency specialising in Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror, represent a range of authors including major brand-names, high profile award winners, talented debut authors and prestigious literary estates.

John’s talk, organised by the Anglia Ruskin Centre for Science Fiction and Fantasy, addressed the question ‘what exactly is a literary agent and why might I need one?’  It was a subject of great interest to our students, many of whom are considering careers in areas such as writing, editing or publishing when they graduate.

The talk concluded with a Q&A session, allowing both students and staff members to get answers to their own questions about working with literary agents, before everyone headed for the local pub to continue their discussion over a few drinks.
