Portfolio and interview preparation

When you apply for one of our art courses, the portfolio and interview will both be important parts of your application.  Putting together a portfolio for the first time can be quite a challenge, particularly when there is so much else to think about.

At Cambridge School of Art, we want your application and interview process to go as smoothly as possible, so we've put together a guide of useful tips to help you prepare.

What do we look for in the portfolio?

Generally a portfolio should include 15-20 pieces of work that show your skills in your chosen artistic domain. Make sure you include the work you most enjoyed making, as this will help us know if you will enjoy working with us.
