2017 Guggenheim Fellow Joseph DeLappe is the Professor of Games and Tactical Media at Abertay University.
Working with electronic and new media since 1983, his politically charged works, including gaming interventions, public and collaborative projects have been shown throughout the United States and abroad - he is considered a pioneer of video game art.
He has engaged in numerous experimental projects engaging the edges new media practices and political agency. These include "dead-in-iraq", "Gandhi's March to Dandi in Second Life" and "Killbox", a game about drone warfare. Throughout his work, the intent is to investigate politics, war, work, play, protest and human/machine relations.
