CSA graduate’s second collection critiques social media

BA (Hons) Fashion Design graduate Micaela Sapinho recently showed her second collection at Lisbon Fashion Week 2017/18. You can see samples of work from her collection on the ModaLisboa website.

On the site, she describes her collection as: “Inspired by today's addiction to social media, which could easily be considered a fundamental characteristic of my generation.

“A generation that values documenting someone's life more than actually living it. It reflects a plastic happiness and bears a never-ending competition of posts and tweets.”

Micaela previously presented her debut collection at the Lisbon Fashion Week in October 2016, just four months after graduating from Cambridge School of Art.

In the second year of her degree, she also completed an internship at Filipe Faísca's atelier and, in her final year, presented an outfit from her project ‘Mensagem’ at Cambridge Style Week.
