22 January 2018, 10:00 - 16:00
ARU Drama Studio, 58 Covent Garden, Cambridge CB1 2HT
Aimed at developing confidence in the classroom, this day-long workshop will utilise practical skills from drama training to explore various teaching scenarios and review classroom management.
The session will involve active participation in tasks and exercises, alongside shared discussions about different approaches and strategies to maintaining an effective learning environment.
We will look at the connections between teaching and performing in order to explore our own teaching personas and to find ways of communicating most effectively with varying numbers of students, ranging from individuals to large groups. The workshop will culminate in working through certain classroom scenarios through roleplay in interactive dialogue about the issues being confronted and raised. The emphasis will be on experimentation and play, and participants will need to come in comfortable clothing, ready to be involved in drama games.
