The day will be an opportunity for course leaders to consider how best to implement a new Active Curriculum framework within their courses from 2019/20 onwards, as part of their commitment to provide their students with a distinctive research-informed, inclusive and active learning experience.
This year’s Course Leaders’ Conference will focus on embedding the new Education Strategy and establishing the principles of the Active Curriculum, grounding them in the course experience to deliver improved employability outcomes.
The day will be externally facilitated and will be based on a Sandpit activity designed to foster creativity and innovative thinking.
The Sandpit will be based on a course design challenge. Other than the design challenge and the scheduled milestones that you will be presented with on the day, there are purposefully very few rules of play applied to the event, in order to foster and enable innovative thinking and radical approaches to curriculum design and delivery.
Our intention is that the Sandpit will pool and capture collective expertise and progressive curricular work as well as provide further evidence of our distinctive practice. Participants are drawn from a range of academic disciplines and academic and professional roles across ARU.

Registration and all refreshments, including lunch, will be in the LAB Foyer. Vegetarian options will be provided. If you haven’t already registered for the event please email email@example.com and specify any dietary requirements you may have.

Photographs will be taken to record the day’s activities. Elevator pitches and presentations will be recorded to aid the judging process. We may also want to make some of them available after the event as useful resources to support Course Leaders.
