Innovating Pedagogy 2017

The Open University has produced its sixth report ‘Innovating Pedagogy 2017’, produced in collaboration with the Learning In a NetworKed Society (LINKS) Israeli Center of Research Excellence (I-CORE). The report proposes ten innovations that have the potential to provoke major shifts in educational practice.

Work to develop knowledge exchange comparison framework underway

HEFCE has set up a technical advisory group to begin the development of Knowledge Exchange Framework metrics, and is calling for evidence to inform the work of the group.
The development of a new Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) metrics system was announced in October by the Universities Minister Jo Johnson, and highlighted in the Government’s recent Industrial Strategy White Paper. The Minister has commissioned HEFCE to prepare the implementation of the policy, which will be managed by Research England from April 2018.

Wellbeing stronger in higher education graduates

HEFCE has published the report ‘The wellbeing of graduates: Assessing the contribution of higher education to graduates’ wellbeing in the UK’. It shows graduates in the UK have a greater sense of personal wellbeing and life satisfaction than those without a higher education qualification. The findings show that individuals measure their lives higher in terms of overall happiness when they have completed a higher education qualification.
