My name’s Tim, and I’m studying Computer Games Art.
Before I started this course, I wasn’t sure about what direction to go in, so I focused on something I’m really passionate about. I took my time and looked around, and decided that Cambridge and Computer Games Art at ARU was the place to be, because the video games industry here is amazing.
I’m living in one of ARU’s houses, right by the university, sharing with five other people, which is fun. On my course you get to meet so many people who’re already in the industry, we get to work with games developers on actual briefs for games they’re making. Working with them we produce assets for the games, so you get a real feel for how it is to work in the industry.
Studying here, I’ve made some amazing friends and not just on my course. The crossover of work means we get to make friends and games with people on other courses like Computer Games Development. The theatre’s pretty cool, and I loved seeing the poster I designed for a recent play all over campus when I was walking to lectures.
There are so many studios here in Cambridge that when I graduate I want to join one of them and go on making games. If you’re thinking about coming to Anglia Ruskin, go for it – you won’t regret it. The people here are amazing.
