My name is Melissa and I have just finished my foundation year in Pharmaceutical Science. I am about to start my first year on the BSc Honours course in September.
I came to Anglia Ruskin through Clearing and I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for all the Clearing team’s help and guidance I wouldn’t be where I am today. I was lucky enough to be offered a place on the course and my future prospects are greater than they’ve ever been. The Clearing staff were so helpful and supported me every step of the way, from the first telephone call where they offered me a place, right up to my first official day at university.
I really didn’t think that I would ever have the chance to study towards a degree and the fact that Anglia Ruskin gave me the chance is something I will never forget, and always motivates me to work harder. I cannot thank ARU enough for giving me this opportunity.
The facilities that I use for this course are amazing. My course means I spend a lot of time in the ‘SuperLabs’ which are brand new state-of-the art labs in which I do all my practical experiments and lab reports under the supervision of my lecturers. I chose to study pharmaceutical science as my ambition is to work for Cancer Research or Alzheimer UK as a research scientist and this course is perfectly suited for me to reach that goal.
Since studying at Anglia Ruskin, I have joined the University’s cheerleading squad, the Anglia Ruskin Sirens, and this will be my first year as president of the team. As corny as it sounds, joining a society like the Sirens has allowed me to make friends for life who have made my university experience one that I will always remember. I am so excited to see where my degree takes me.
