There are loads of things you can get involved in at Anglia Ruskin. Use your time here to volunteer, try new things and meet new people.
It’s a known fact that students who get involved with university activities make a wider network of friends and organise their time better. It also looks great on your CV for future employers.
Become a student Ambassador and share your experiences with new or potential students – simply register your interest with our Employment Bureau. Our Employment Bureau also offers other part-time temporary work which you can fit around your studies. Most of this work is on campus so you can learn more about Anglia Ruskin while you earn money.
Becoming a Rep or an Officer is a great way to work with other students and staff at all levels of the University to make positive change. There are a variety of part-time and voluntary positions available on all campuses including in the categories of Campaign Rep, Education Rep and National Conference Delegate. You could also become one of five full-time and paid Executive Officers who are elected in March and lead the Students’ Union, serving for a term of one year from July.
We support more than a thousand students who volunteer for us, run sports clubs and societies, act as student reps or help out in the community.
We have hundreds of opportunities available to you and fantastic staff to help you every step of the way. We will also officially accredit your hours so you can add them to your CV.
Volunteering is a great way to increase your chances of getting your dream job when you leave university – or simply a way of giving something back to your community.
Find out more about volunteering through the Students' Union.
There are loads of societies you can join to meet people with the same interests as you. If we don’t have a society to match your interests, you can work with the Students’ Union to create your own.
Our Students’ Union organises social events all year round. Fresher’s events are a great way to meet new people.
You can join a sports club or get involved with social sport with Sport and Active Anglia. There’s something for everyone, from complete beginners to accomplished athletes. Choose from cricket, rugby, netball, judo, ultimate Frisbee (yes, really) and more…
We host a wide range of events on campus including theatre shows, art exhibitions, workshops, talks and festival performances. We’d love to see you at our community events, many of which are free. Check out our online diary.
We want to make sure your experience here is the best it can be so we’d love to know what we’re doing right, and hear what you think could be improved. There are a number of surveys throughout the year. If you’re asked to participate, please take the time to do it. Your answers are important to us and guide the changes we make here.
