The Railyard opened in 2014 in central Cambridge, just 15 minutes’ walk from campus. It’s divided into three blocks, with 244 individual bedrooms and a shared common room.

The Railyard has 244 en-suite rooms, divided into three accommodation blocks named Stephenson, Brunel and Telford. You’ll live in Stephenson or Telford. All rooms have:
Some rooms are adapted for students with specific needs, for example wheelchair users, and medical requirements.
You’ll share a kitchen/living area with five to seven students. It features comfy seating and a flatscreen TV (you share the cost of a TV licence), plus a fridge, freezer, microwave, cooker, toaster and kettle. You could other buy kitchen items after you arrive and share the cost with your housemates (see What’s in the room and what to bring).
As well as homes, The Railyard development includes a range of shops, restaurants and bars. It’s next to the railway station and a short walk from Cambridge Leisure Park which has a cinema, bowling alley, gym and more.
At The Railyard you’ll find bicycle storage and a launderette. However, there isn’t any car parking on site.
All our students can use the Railyard common room which has a widescreen TV, football table, pool table and a PlayStation.
