Our Outdoor Activities programme runs throughout the year and there’s something happening most weeks. The activities are designed so that anyone can have a go. Please see our timetables at the bottom of the page.
Activities cost just £7.50 per session. This includes all necessary equipment, and transport from campus to the venue and back.
All the activities are run by fully qualified professional instructors, who make sure everyone has a fun and exhilarating experience.
You don’t need any previous experience and the sessions cater for a wide range of fitness and abilities. However, please read the essential information below. You can join in whenever you want. There’s no need to commit to more than one session, and you can take part in as many of the activities as you want. There’s no membership and no need to sign up, but it is essential to book a place. You can book at either Mildmay Sports Centre or Helmore Gym.
If you already have some involvement in an outdoor activity, you'll still get a lot from our sessions as the instructors are good at finding a suitable challenge. We’re keen to support ongoing training and development, so please get in touch to discuss your interests. We have good links with clubs, facilities and instructors.

To keep up to date with what’s going on you can now join the Outdoor Activities Facebook groups. You’ll be able to share your experiences, photos and videos, see what others are doing and possibly make new friends.
