Executive Function Research Area

Untitled Page

The Executive Function Research Area brings together researchers interested in the separate but overlapping domains of working memory, cognitive flexibility, inhibition, planning and decision making.

Our members investigate these cognitive abilities across the life span, their neural correlates and their role in mental health and social behaviour. We employ diverse research approaches including brain imaging, eye tracking, autonomic responses and classic experimental psychology methods. Members of our group have received research funding from numerous sources, including the Leverhulme Trust, the Economic and Social Research Council, the British Academy and the Wellcome Trust.

We would welcome enquiries about possible projects, collaborations or PhD study in the areas above. Please contact members of academic staff directly (see personal pages for email address and research interests) or Sharon Morein-Zamir for any general queries.

The Executive Function Research Area is part of the Brain and Cognition Research Group.
