Javaid Butt is an active researcher in the field of Additive Manufacturing with a passion for interdisciplinary studies associated with Mechatronics, Robotics and 3D Printing.

Background

Javaid joined Anglia Ruskin University as a Lecturer in January 2016 immediately after submitting his PhD thesis and is rigorously researching in the field of additive manufacturing. Javaid acquired his PhD from the Department of Engineering & Built Environment at Anglia Ruskin University in 2016. He designed a new additive manufacturing process for the production of metal and composite parts. 

At the University of Southampton, Javaid designed a novel mechanism for the production of multiple material parts using a desktop based 3D printer in his MSc project. Javaid’s first degree is in Mechatronics & Control Engineering with the final year project on the design of a master-slave dexterous robotic hand.
