Ahad has experience of working in industry as well as academic teaching and research. Ahad is founder of Essex Engineering and Innovation Community promoting engineering in region.

Ahad has a PhD from Anglia Ruskin University acquired in 2007 on optimising a novel compact heat exchanger. Ahad’s first degree is in Aerospace engineering while his Master’s degree project was computational fluid dynamics programming to solve and capture shockwave on compressible flow and analyse smoothing mesh adaption technique. After PhD, Ahad was lead investigator in several industrial collaborations working with and at companies such as APPS Technologies and Propelair limited. He was also lead researcher for EU funded FP7 project REVIVAL contributing CFD method to optimise design of inflow control valve aiming to increase oil production by 25%. Ahad’s main research interests is design optimisation using computational fluid dynamics applied in various fluid flow and thermal related applications.
