Cristina’s research interests are in semantic web, formal languages and algorithms. She has co-authored several books on programming and algorithms. In addition to her academic career, she also worked in industry for several years as a senior software engineer.

Cristina currently supervises the following PhDs.

  • Design and development of a new query language for the ‘semantic web’
  • A new method of integrating and publishing in linked open data
  • Optimising search for long tailed/niche items
  • Complex business systems within hosted services
