Welcome Guide

Our International Admissions Service will send you a detailed information guide once we've received your application, and an offer has been made.

This guide contains advice on accommodation reservation, payment of fees, health and medical insurance, the cost of living as a student, immigration advice, transport options to the University campus, and arrival arrangements. If you'd like you can view a copy of our most recent guide.

Settling in: our International Orientation Programme

To welcome you to University, each September and January, we organise our International Orientation Programme, where we aim to include all the essential elements you need to make a successful start to your new life at our University.

We run sessions providing advice on:

studying in the UK
sport and social facilities
working and health entitlements
opening a UK bank account
food and shopping
UK culture and customs
finding a part-time job, and
travel and transport.

There will also be campus and city/town tours, plus a number of social events so that you can meet other students and your tutors.

Our welcome and arrival experience was ranked 3rd in the UK by our international students in September 2010.

Airport meet & greet service

If you're planning to arrive in the UK at Heathrow airport we also offer a coach service to our Cambridge and Chelmsford campuses.

Our welcome activities, International Orientation Programme and meet & greet are organised by our International Student Advice Service who are also available to provide you with advice and support throughout your time with us.
