Spanish

Spanish language courses are offered at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level at both Cambridge and Chelmsford. These daytime courses run for 12 weeks in each semester (Semester 1: end September-mid December; Semester 2: early February-mid May). The lecturers are highly qualified and experienced teachers and are predominantly native speakers as well. The students are a stimulating mix of Anglia Ruskin University degree students, Erasmus and International students, Anglia Ruskin staff and the general public (Link Students).

Spanish is taught in small groups, in normal seminar rooms and in a multi-media language lab. The modules focus on all four language skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening), with grammar clearly presented.

Assessment consists of coursework and tests which are completed by week 12 of each module. For some Advanced level modules, exams (in January and June) are also part of the assessment.

Spanish has been taught successfully at Anglia Ruskin University for almost 30 years and students taking the modules have had a high success rate and their feedback has been consistently positive.

The Spanish Elective

Students registered for an Anglia Ruskin University degree may take up to 60 credits of Spanish language modules. In order to do so students must opt to take the Language Elective. Please contact the Spanish coordinators for advice. A certificate of attainment (Common European Framework) will be produced to all students successfully completing the Language Elective or 60 credits of Spanish at Anglia Ruskin University.
