French

French language courses are offered at Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced level at both Cambridge and Chelmsford. These daytime courses run for 12 weeks in each semester (Semester 1: end September-mid December; Semester 2: early February-mid May). The lecturers are highly qualified and experienced teachers and are predominantly native speakers as well. The students are a stimulating mix of Anglia Ruskin University degree students and International students, University staff and the general public (Link Students).

French is taught in small groups, in normal seminar rooms and in the multi-media language lab. The modules feature the spoken and the written language, with grammar clearly presented.

Assessment consists of coursework and tests which are completed by week 12 of each module. For some advanced level modules exams (in June) are also part of the assessment.

French has been taught successfully at Anglia Ruskin University for around 40 years and students taking the modules have had a high success rate. Student feedback has been consistently positive.
