Pre-sessional English Course

The pre-sessional English programme provided by the Language Service Unit (LSU) is an intensive course that has been designed to improve your English skills before you start your academic life at Anglia Ruskin. We offer a wide-range of programmes that range from 3-24 weeks depending on your level of English.

The course is full-time and you will study 21 hours per week. Throughout the course you will attend classes on writing, reading, listening and speaking skills. The course will also focus on key academic skills including research methods, note-taking, seminar skills, presentation skills, and academic vocabulary.

At the end of the course you will take our English Language Provision Test (ELPT) and you should not need to re-take your IELTS.
