Postgraduate Masters degrees: English language requirements

Standard requirements

If English is not your first language, for entry to an postgraduate Masters degree course you'll require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, with nothing lower than 5.5 in any of the 4 elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing).

Accepted equivalents to IELTS
  • TOEFL IBT: 90
  • Cambridge: CAE Grade C+
  • Pearson: 60

If you need to improve your level of English language to meet our entry requirements our Anglia Ruskin University Language Centre offer a number of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) courses, including Degree pre-sessional and English with Academic Skills courses.
