TOEFL recognition updates

TOEFL taken outside the UK

At the current time we will continue to accept TOEFL taken outside of the UK as evidence of English language proficiency and Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) can be issued on the basis of these results.

However, you may still wish to take an alternative test which is accepted by Anglia Ruskin University. This advice is given to protect our applicants in the unlikely event that the UK Home Office extends the suspension to include TOEFL exams taken overseas.

TOEFL taken in the UK

If you have submitted, or were intending to submit, TOEFL results taken in the UK to evidence your level of English, you will need to take an alternative test which is accepted by Anglia Ruskin University.

We will not issue Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) on the basis of TOEFL results taken in the UK. Any visa application with a UK TOEFL is currently being held and would significantly delay your visa decision. We want to help you avoid this inconvenience and the worry it would cause.

Please see below for details of alternative tests.
