What is the Student Money Advice Service?

The Student Money Advice Service is there to help you when you need it - whether you have a question about budgeting or student loans, or if you find yourself worried about paying for books or travel - we'll work with you to ensure you get the most out of your studies at Anglia Ruskin University as free as possible from money worries.

We can advise on:

• funding for full-time undergraduate and postgraduate studies
• funding for part-time study
• the Access to Learning Fund
• budgeting and money management
• additional funding; trusts and charities
• tax credits; student entitlement to child tax credit and working tax credit
• welfare benefits; student entitlement to benefits
• council tax issues for students

The Access to Learning Fund (ALF)

If you are a student experiencing financial hardship, then you could be eligible to receive help from the Access to Learning Fund. If you are a single parent or a student from a low-income family, you could benefit from a non-repayable grant (paid in a lump sum or in instalments) to assist you with tuition fees and living costs.
