What is the Student Money Advice Service?
The Student Money Advice Service is there to help you when you need it - whether you have a question about budgeting or student loans, or if you find yourself worried about paying for books or travel - we'll work with you to ensure you get the most out of your studies at Anglia Ruskin University as free as possible from money worries.

We can advise on:
- funding for full-time undergraduate and postgraduate studies
- funding for part-time study
- the Access to Learning Fund
- budgeting and money management
- additional funding; trusts and charities
- tax credits; student entitlement to child tax credit and working tax credit
- welfare benefits; student entitlement to benefits
- council tax issues for students

The Access to Learning Fund (ALF)
If you are a student experiencing financial hardship, then you could be eligible to receive help from the Access to Learning Fund. If you are a single parent or a student from a low-income family, you could benefit from a non-repayable grant (paid in a lump sum or in instalments) to assist you with tuition fees and living costs.To find out whether you are eligible, and for more information about your application, visit the Access to Learning Fund website.
