Postgraduate taught qualifications
A taught Postgraduate qualification may require students to attend lectures and seminars as well as taking exams, writing a dissertation or being involved with practical work. There are four main types: Postgraduate certificates (PG Cert) or diplomas (PG Dip) which last one year and don't usually involve independent research; Taught masters (e.g. MA) which last one year and are made up of a module element and a dissertation; Master of Business Administration (MBA) which is a specialist taught masters course and Conversion or Professional courses (e.g. PGCE) which relate to specific careers.
Qualifications are banded depending on the costs associated with the course. The more additional resources and equipment that are required, the higher the cost. To find out which band your course is in, please read the course fee PDF guides for the relevant year (please scroll down).
