In Cambridge, Anglia Ruskin Students' Union has almost fifty student-led societies and sports clubs, all of which meet regularly, and combined, provide social, educational and sporting opportunities for well over 1000 students.

Societies exist for students with similar interests, hobbies or faiths and range from the Wildlife Society to Christian Union, International Students Society to the Forensic Society. Many societies are affiliated to national groups and are involved in fundraising, volunteering in the local community and welcoming prestigious guest speakers in to talk.

For those wishing to take part in sport, activities include football, rugby, ultimate frisbee, hockey and many more. Whilst the emphasis for many is to have play and meet new people, many of our teams also compete on a regular basis in various competitions locally and nationally with fourteen teams competing in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) league this year.

We actively encourage students to establish their own society or sports club if there is not one that meets their needs or interests already and with our financial and practical support we hope to help them grow and develop.
