Research Excellence

Research Excellence banner
The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) evaluates higher education institutions according to their subject successes and their overall quality of research. The most recent results were published in 2008.

The RAE results show research at Anglia Ruskin University is increasing in strength and scope. Reflecting this improvement, Anglia Ruskin has moved within the Times Higher Education tables from 121st to 86th position. Anglia Ruskin came out top of the 'new' universities for Psychology, second for English Language and Literature (including contributions from Communication, Film and Media) and third for History.

More than half of the work in all 9 of Anglia Ruskin's submissions was recognised as of international quality, with 8 submissions having a proportion of their work rated as 'world-leading'.

Anglia Ruskin University achieved similar rankings in the Guardian and Research Fortnightly.
