Work-based learning
Work Based Learning is a method of teaching that focuses on people's day-to-day work responsibilities. The BA (Hons) degree in Management (Work Based) is taught through Work Based Learning, which means that students will be learning about issues directly relevant their job. This approach benefits both student and employer since the course content and assessment are based around work activities, reinforcing and supporting the development of practical skills and understanding.Projects
Throughout the course there are opportunities for students on the BA (Hons) Management to investigate themes relevant to their work. In particular, there is a major project which enables students to study one particular area of interest both to them and their employer. Students have carried out a wide range of projects, including a report on comparable organisations' customer service policies, an analysis of a specific logistical issue within the company and a study of e-marketing opportunities available to the employer. This project gives the student a specialist understanding of a particular area of activity, while the employer gains not only from the final report that the student produces, but also from the in-depth knowledge that the student can then apply to their work.
Virtual Learning Environment
The course is delivered using Anglia Ruskin's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). This is a web-based facility that manages students learning and enables you to communicate with your tutor and with your fellow students. Through the VLE we are able to deliver support at times that suit you, and students are able to share ideas and feedback with each other, work on collaborative projects and receive guidance from their tutors.
