Course overview
This course is designed for people who are already experienced judo coaches and wish to attain their European Judo Union Level 4 performance coach award , this course is a prerequisite for the European Judo Union Level 5 high performance coach award.The European Judo Union (EJU) provides high quality coaching awards at Levels three - six. Level 4 yields a foundation degree (FdSc) in Sports Coaching, Level 5 a BSc (Hons) in Sports Coaching, and Level 6 an MSc in Italy.
The European Judo Union Performance Coach Award Level 4 is delivered at Anglia Ruskin University through six blocks of two weeks, over a three year period. Students on the Level 4 and 5 courses in Cambridge, are registered at Anglia Ruskin University and have the same benefits as full time students including access to the library, the digital library, the Students' Union, and student support services.
The course utilises experienced staff from Anglia Ruskin's unit for Sport and Exercise Sciences, who cover areas such as physiology, biomechanics, psychology and coaching pedagogy. These experts are supported by judo-specific lecturers and in previous years this has included Professor Emanuela Pierantozzi (twice World Champion and double Olympic medallist), Kenzo Nakamura (World and Olympic Champion), Peter Seisenbacher (double Olympic medallist and World Champion), Kate Howey (double Olympic medallist and World Champion) and Kosei Inoue (Olympic medallist and three times World Champion).

Students will be assessed through standard essay writing, presentations, practical coaching and online.Associated careers

This course also yields an European Judo Union Level 4 performance coach award and a European Judo Union Level 5 high performance coach award.Work placements
Student will be expected to be coaching regularly and will be assessed on this.| Entry Requirements: | Judo Foundation degree from Anglia Ruskin University, Judo Coaching Award or Judo competitive experience.
