Management of Social and Affordable Housing

FdSc

Intermediate award(s): CertHE

Matthew Weekes, Management of Social and Affordable Housing student

The course has opened my eyes to a lot of things and will definitely help my career progression. After working in housing for a few years, people can sometimes get boxed in to their role, but this course helps to stretch your thinking, It gets you thinking about the bigger picture. The interaction with students from other organisations helps as well.

It's also taught me to consume information more easily; teaching me to deal with more challenging information and concepts, to analyse them and come to a conclusion about them. The course has helped me refine my thinking processes and also the way I approach making arguments, suggestions or proposals. So when I go back to work and I want to introduce a new initiative or argue my point on something, it's easier to evidence that, or write it in a convincing way.

Paul Sanderson (the course tutor) has been excellent, I can't fault him. He's been very supportive.
