Assessment

A range of assessment methods will be utilised throughout your course. These include, essays, portfolios, learning logs, presentations, case studies, practice competencies, exams, observed structured clinical examinations, and other written assignments. The methods of assessment used will vary from student to student depending on what combination of modules you choose to complete your degree. The focus will be on strong theory/practice links and strategies have been selected to maximise your learning and provide opportunities for you to demonstrate enhancement of your knowledge base and practical skills.

Students undertaking our course will have a range of experiences within their own area of practice, and will be expected to bring these to modules.

Shared learning, based on these experiences will ensure that you not only learn from each other ,but that knowledge and understanding gained during an individual module and the course as a whole will be contextualised within practice. This is a fundamental requirement for a course that considers the importance of inter-professional working in enabling effective care in the primary care setting.

Learning and teaching strategies will be varied and include, enquiry based learning, seminars, tutorials, reflection, self-directed study, lectures by academic and visiting specialist speakers, VLE, and in some cases supervised practice.
