Course overview

This course will develop your knowledge and understanding of economics to a level that is beyond the scope of many postgraduate courses - with the aim of enhancing your career as either a professional business economist or within general business management. In an increasingly globalised economy, the explicitly international element should also prove particularly attractive to potential employers.

A number of study trips to key financial institutions contribute a practical element to the course. You will have the opportunity to visit the London Metal Exchange, HM Treasury, Lloyd's of London and the Bank of England. These tours will help to strengthen your understanding of the workings of organisations that operate in the international arena, and provide a more practical and dynamic element to the course.

Crucially, this course also provides an opportunity to liaise with researchers and practitioners within the field of business and economics - helping to ensure that the course maintains a focus that is relevant to the requirements of the industry.
