The aim of this course is to produce HR professionals who are knowledgeable and competent managers in their own right, as well as having their own specialist knowledge and skills in the area of the management and development of people.In a rapidly changing commercial environment, HR managers are taking an increasingly central role in strategic decision making. This course recognises the challenges faced by today's HR managers, and seeks to equip you with the skills to meet them. You will not only enhance your knowledge and understanding of key issues within the field, you will also develop the confidence to apply them in a professional environment, creating innovative solutions to complex organisational problems.
The Human Resource Management MA (Top-Up) course focuses upon the furtherance of appreciation of the global marketplace in terms of impact upon labour markets, issues for HR practitioners working in a multi-national corporation within an international environment. The course will address and consider the changing nature of employment further to the global credit crunch and the changing nature of the economic climate or world order. As such it will provide great benefit for professional practitioners who wish to develop their skills and appreciation for people management from an international and comparative perspective.

The course will benefit those HR managers who are preparing themselves for senior roles and are seeking to develop their strategic and international perspectives and establish HR as a major influence in the formation of company policy. The format of the course will be a mixture of theory presentation, discussion and practical skill development based on case studies, simulations and structured experiences, which reflect typical HRM issues.

Assessment
The course is assessed formally through written work or group and individual presentations comprising the following, as appropriate for each module: Major Project and knowledge/work-based assignment(s). Allows those who have an existing CIPD Diploma stage qualification to convert this to a full MA.Facilities

Thus, the MA in Human Resource Management will benefit those individuals who are preparing themselves for strategic and international roles in HRM as a business partner.| Entry Requirements: | Entry requirement is CIPD diploma/Diploma in HRM. Preferably 1-2 years minimum in HR post. All external applicants will go through the APL process. Stage 3 entry only available if existing credit maps to the ARU Diploma in HRM and was completed within the last five years. Internal applications can progress directly from the Diploma in HRM. |
