Strategy at the Frontline
Bringing together all the strands of the 'Developing Managers' programme, this final half-day session steps back from specific capacities to examine the strategies the new manager must employ if organisational objectives are to be achieved.
The session examines general management theory in the context of contemporary business issues such as current economic challenges or changing consumer behaviour. Delegates gain an understanding of how to apply strategic theory to their own operational context, and of the importance of flexibility and responsiveness in strategy development, given the dynamic economic contexts in which many organisations operate.
The session also delivers a holistic view of management, showing how the necessary capabilities combine to deliver greater strategic insights; this will help delegates identify the capabilities they now need to continue their professional development as a new manager.
