Enhanced Physical Skills in Mental Health
Level 6
30 credits
The physical health and well being of people who experience mental health difficulties has become an issue of national importance within recent years. It has been well documented that people who experience long term mental health problems may face increased mortality rates, compared with the general population, and barriers in accessing appropriate services to meet their physical needs.
This module is designed for clinical staff who work in mental health settings to enhance understanding of the concepts of health, health beliefs and well being and to be able to transfer newly acquired knowledge and skills into their area of practice. In doing so, clinicians will be expected to appreciate the meaning and impact of ill health for the individual and those who support them.
