This module is designed for health and social care professionals who prefer a practice-based approach to life long learning to explore and apply the principles of learning, assessing and mentoring. Student mentor learning will be facilitated within the university and supported within their workplace to acquire the appropriate evidence based knowledge and skills to understand the process of learning, and assessing.

It enables the student to gain 15 credits at level 3 by submitting a 1,500 word reflective essay and can be undertaken as part of a BSc pathway or as a stand alone module. Students are expected to attend all taught sessions and be online in the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). The VLE is an online guided study programme where students will complete activities and engage with other students online.

Students will also commit to completion and submission of all work based learning criteria through mentor supervisor facilitation in meeting the requirements of the professional bodies.
